Simon Sinek's 2009 TEDx talk introducing the golden circle: why purpose precedes method and product in persuasion. As a model of presentation craft, it shows a single idea carried by repetition, drawing, and restraint.

Field experiment with 34 managers plus a lab experiment with 41 MBA speakers testing whether twelve charismatic leadership tactics — metaphor, story, rhetorical question, moral conviction, ambitious goals — can be trained. Both interventions raised observer-rated charisma. This is one of the few randomized causal tests, and it targets the component learners most want — articulating a compelling vision — with a concrete enumerated tactic list rather than exhortation.
Enhancing and Extending the Meta-Analytic Comparison of Newer Genre Leadership Forms
Meta-analysis comparing transformational leadership against authentic, ethical, and servant leadership across nine outcomes. Mean corrected intercorrelations near .80 and relative weight analysis placing transformational lowest raise the question of whether these constructs are empirically distinct.
