### 1. Club Ready DJ School (YouTube)

**Author:** Andrew Duffield

Free tutorial channel run by Sydney club DJ and promoter Andrew Duffield. Short lessons cover phrasing, cue point placement, gain staging, waveform reading, transitions, three-deck technique and getting booked, uploaded near-daily since 2017 across 13 million views.
Caveat noted honestly: the school sells a paid course, so the channel is partly a funnel - but the free videos are standalone and complete, and nothing is gated.

### 1. The Art of DJing (Resident Advisor feature series)

Interview series in which Resident Advisor questions working DJs - Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Octo Octa, dBridge, Fabio and others - about track selection, mixing across three or four decks, set structure and reading a room. This is where the tacit half of DJing lives - how selection, energy management and phrasing decisions actually get made by people who do it for a living. Running since 2015.

### 1. How to DJ Right: The Art and Science of Playing Records

**Author:** Bill Brewster, Frank Broughton

Instructional guide to club DJing from the authors of Last Night a DJ Saved My Life. Covers beatmatching, cutting, spinbacks, EQ, phrasing and set programming, with diagrams explaining song structure and beat timing for readers without music theory. The only DJ book that treats mixing as a discipline rather than a gear checklist: it teaches beat timing, phrase structure and set programming from first principles, which transfers to any hardware.
